Orphan what is it rated

This leads to a wild, violent finish and the crazy revelation about who Esther really is. Like that movie, it is up to the mother, Kate, to defend her family, especially her two children. Also like that movie, ORPHAN delivers the goods when it comes to thrills and chills, even though some of the scary moments rely on jump scenes rather than true suspense which would be more effective.

There is also strong, but brief, sexual content, plus some lighter and briefly disturbing sexual references. Not everything is as it seems in this scene, however, which reveals the deep, startling secret Esther has been hiding from everyone, including the orphanage nuns. It would be nice, however, if Hollywood did make a bunch of movies painting a positive, uplifting picture of adopting orphans.

Also, putting young child actors in such a disturbing story as this one is highly questionable, needless to say. Only a tiny portion of our readers give.

Thank you. A woman wears a low-cut top that reveals cleavage. A woman wears a short nightgown. A woman climbs out of bed wearing lace panties. A woman lifts her top to reveal a scar on her abdomen. A woman talks to a married man at a park and invites him to help her move some furniture it is implied that they have had a sexual relationship.

A wife asks her husband if he was hitting on a woman at the park it is implied that they had an extra-marital affair in the past. A woman is struck in the head by a girl with a hammer: she falls to the ground and we see blood on her forehead and pooling under her. A girl puts her own arm in a vice, and she tightens it until her arm breaks she screams and we see the bone press against the skin.

A girl climbs on top of an unconscious boy and smothers him with a pillow we see him blue-tinged and motionless.

A boy shoots paintballs at plastic toys, then at a live bird, striking it and wounding it we see the bird twitching on the ground ; a girl then thrusts a large rock down on top of the bird killing it blood spurts out onto snow around it and we hear a crunch.

A girl is shoved off a piece of playground equipment, we hear a crunch when her leg hits a slide and she cries while lying on the ground we hear later that she broke her ankle. A girl is shoved into a street in front of an oncoming car; the car swerves, spins around and stops without striking the girl. A girl holds a large rock over a boy's head preparing to kill him and she is stopped. A woman yells at a girl and grabs her arm, and the girl screams and runs away.

A girl holds an open utility knife to the throat of a boy, pulls his hair and questions him, and then she holds the knife to his genitals and threatens him, causing him to urinate we see a stain appear on his pajama pants. A girl tells a younger girl that she will shoot her mother if she tells on her. She is evil and dangerous, while the mother begins to suspect odd behaviors from Esther, she must get her stubborn husband to believe her before it's too late.

There's a pretty good twist at the end though. Violence is strong and disturbing, there is a LOT of violence from children like pushing another kid off a swing set, suffocating another kid, gun pointing and threatening, bullying, stabbing, hammering, bird killing, lying, self abuse, beatings, shootings..

There is plenty of gore. Language is terrible, especially coming from children - all words including some "f" words. Sexual content has an "f" word blurted out in a sexual way by a kid, boys look at porn mags with a glance of nudity, parents engage in several sexual acts but no nudity, a young girl dresses sexy for an older man.

Naked pictures of couples in a bedroom. There is drinking, a drunk character appears for about 3 minutes. A woman has an alcoholic past. Some smoking. Absolutely not recommended for 15 and under. Parent Written by treat02 June 3, When you're thirteen you know all of those things, and I think that a thirteen-year-old would be fine. Adult Written by nicolas56 December 31, Adult Written by FilmManiac September 25, Not as violent as you would think I haven't seen this movie in awhile, but this movie delivers stuff that stays in your head.

The movie isn't as violent as you would think, in fact the beginning has no blood and is all about suspense. Yes, I realize this an R rated horror film, but this gore is nothing compared to movies like "Friday the 13th" or "The hills have eyes". This movie more just disturbs you, the idea of adopting a spoiler alert! There is sexual content, but most of the time it's by married adults.

It is also very infrequent. The sex content in this movie is not the "violence and sex" combo that today's horror movies seem to have a lot of. The language is what you would expect from an R rated movie, frequent and strong. We can also tell the mother of the family has a drinking problem and may use some drugs too.

Overall, this is a higher class horror movie that got me to turn into a scary movie lover I am now. If you like lots of jump out of your seat chills and thrills, you should go see Orphan.

Keep in mind how disturbing it is, though. Adult Written by helenmirrenrox June 30, Good Movie, Bad Message and stuff for young teens. Other wise a good horror for adults and old teens.
